Wellington, FL- February 6, 2013- The highly-anticipated Fourth Annual International Gay Polo Tournament, one of the highlights of the winter equestrian season, is set for Saturday April 13, 2013 at Grand Champions Polo Club. This year the event is planning some enhancements that will create a new fresh feeling to the event.
The “Elite” tent is new this year. Decorated with an upscale equestrian theme, the Elite tent will be a hub of the event where attendees will enjoy entertainment, food and drinks. "What's all this about gay polo, anyway? Well, it started in 2006 when Los Angeles media executive Chip McKenney founded the Gay Polo League (GPL). He had a history in show jumping but was looking for a team sport where he could connect with other gays and lesbians. As more and more people in the polo community heard about the GPL, players of all ages from around the world came forward with stories that basically said, "I thought I was the only gay person in polo!"

Third Annual International Gay Polo Tournament Attracts Record Attendance, Crowns Gamma Mu New Champion

Wellington, FL.--April 14, 2012--A record crowd of nearly 3,000 fans watched the third annual International Gay Polo Tournament crown the 2012 champion Saturday at windswept Grand Champions Polo Club.
It was only fitting that Gay Polo League president and founder Chip McKenney lead Gamma Mu to a thrilling come-from-behind 6-5 victory over Polo Gear/Palm Beach Rox in the championship final.
With three seconds remaining, Gamma Mu team captain Juan Bollini took a short pass from Jack Hoffman and tapped in the winning goal. Bollini led his team with three goals, McKenney scored two goals, Christine Vermes finished with one goal and Hoffman came up with some outstanding defensive plays.

Wellington, FL--April 15, 2012--- Dwight Tran can still remember his debut three years ago at the International Gay Polo Tournament.
"When I first came out here, I fell off my horse," Tran said with a smile, shaking his head.
"It was the first year of the tournament and it was on the qualifying day. My horse reared up and I fell off. The horse rolled over my leg but luckily I didn't break anything."
Since then Tran has made remarkable progress and for the second consecutive year was voted the Most Improved Player Award for the third annual International Gay Polo Tournament Saturday at Grand Champions Polo Club.

Wellington, FL - Talbot Logan shook off pre-game jitters to play the game of his life Saturday at the third annual International Gay Polo Tournament at Grand Champions Polo Club.
Logan, 43, of Polo Gear/Palm Beach Rox scored a career-high four goals in the championship final against Gamma Mu.
In a hotly-contested seesaw battle, Gamma Mu won the title, 6-5.
